Promoting Youth Growth Through Lacrosse
Annapolis Youth Lacrosse Association
The Annapolis Youth Lacrosse Association was created in 1992 for the purpose of forming a centralized youth Lacrosse organization in the Annapolis area. Focused on providing youth with the opportunity to compete at all levels of play, the organization has grown to be very successful. The AYLA Guidelines of Participation summarize the organization expectations, and exemplify the standards set forth by the initial AYLA Board of Directors.
AYLA Programs for All Ages
AYLA organizes both a Spring and Fall season of play, and sponsors an annual "Pinball" lacrosse tournament in June for the clinic age(8 and under) teams in the region. The AYLA "Scoopers" program, offered in the Spring, was the first program in the County specifically designed for 5 and 6 year old boys. It is focused on teaching fundamental skills at the same time it is structured to eliminate the competetive aspects of the sport. Our Fall season is one of the more successful Fall lacrosse programs in the Country, and is attended by players from all around the region.
