The Annapolis Youth Lacrosse Association was created in 1992 for the purpose of forming a centralized youth Lacrosse organization in the Annapolis area. Focused on providing youth with the opportunity to compete at all levels of play, the organization has grown to be very successful. The AYLA Guidelines of Participation summarize the organization expectations, and exemplify the standards set forth by the initial AYLA Board of Directors.

Committees
Commissioners Group & Concerns Committee
The group consists of the AYLA Commissioner and the commissioners from each age level (clinic, peewee, midget and junior).
The AYLA Commissioner's role is to be the liason to Anne Arundel County Rec and Parks and AAYLA (the league), as well as manage and assist the 'age-level' commissioners at AYLA with coaching requirements, practice and game scheduling and equipment. This liason role also includes handling any questions or concerns from parents, players, coaches, etc. as necessary.
The 'age-level' commissioner's role is to be the liason to parents, players and coaches involved at their designated age group. The 'age-level' commissioner also manages and assist the coaches in their designated age group with coaching requirements, practice and game scheduling, equipment needs and handling of any questions or concerns.
Addressing Concerns - Keep in mind that concerns can be higher in nature than mere complaints. While we are poised to handle both, before bringing your concern to any of the commissioners make all attempts to reach an agreement with the coach. Let them know your feelings, listen to their response and work together with them to keep harmony. Please be aware of your audience before you engage a coach/commissioner on an issue (do not discuss sensitive issues in earshot of players/parents). Here is the path to follow to resolve an issue: 1st - discuss with coach, 2nd - discuss with commissioner for the appropriate age-level, 3rd discuss with AYLA Commissioner.
